Sony have just announced their newest partnership: They will be the exclusive publisher for the first game by Firewalk Studios – a studio made up of Halo, Apex Legends, Call of Duty and Destiny developers.
If you were looking for a new triple-A multiplayer game we have some good news and some bad news. The good is that Sony will be the exclusive publisher for it, and it's being developed by Firewalk Studios. The bad is that we don't have any clue for a release date yet.

Who Are Firewalk Studios?
Firewalk Studios has developers from Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Destiny, Halo, and others. Firewalk was founded back in 2018 and is led by Tony Hsu, Ryan Ellis, and Elena Siegman. Despite being three years old the company hasn't released any games yet and this multiplayer title that's already in the making will be their first one. Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst commented:
Firewalk is an incredibly talented bunch of people and they have worked on very interesting games collectively and individually. They're a brand new team. Working with Firewalk gives us the best of two worlds. On the one hand, we get to collaborate with the studio right off the bat. So we get that magical early stage, full of curiosity, exploring new ways of making games and making new games. And on the other hand, there is a real depth of experience.
We're proud to announce our publishing partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The opportunity to create new worlds and inspire memorable multiplayer moments for players around the world is the fire and ambition at the heart of our studio. https://t.co/Jbx915pPOO— Firewalk Studios (@FirewalkStudio) April 22, 2021
What Do We Know About Firewalk’s Game?
Not a whole lot. There's no information about it, and we don't have the slightest idea when it comes to setting or gameplay. One thing is certain though, it's going to be a multiplayer title and with that much talent in the studio, it's bound to be a good one. Allow us to repeat: Sony snagged up a game developed by Halo, Call of Duty, Apex Legends and Destiny devs. Say that again three times and your head will spin.
With so much potential going for this new game, let's just hope it won't repeat the mistakes of all the other multiplayer titles that the devs are coming from. If it brings together the best of each of these games, without their drawbacks... boy, oh boy... this could be a juggernaut of a game.
