Valorant is celebrating its one-year anniversary and in addition to the Birthday Rush event, Riot Games announced that Valorant is coming to mobile. You heard that right!
Valorant officially launched exactly a year ago on June 2, 2020. Twelve months later the game's community is thriving, the esports scene is growing and Riot Games confirmed that the title is headed for a mobile release next. Thus, one of the biggest questions surrounding the future of the title is now answered.
Valorant Mobile Confirmed
The good news that confirmed the Valorant mobile release came from Riot in an official press release. VALORANT Executive Producer Anna Donlon commented:
One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community, and to prove to them that VALORANT will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter. To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we’re trying to do with VALORANT is beyond what we could’ve expected and we’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive VALORANT experience to even more global players.
By the looks of it, Riot will be expanding to even more platforms and mobile seems like just the beginning. It won't be the first Riot Games title to receive a mobile port, as we've already seen the launch of Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactis.
