Valorant Agent Guide: Skye

The only agent guide we're missing is one about Skye and we're about to fix that. If you wanted to play a weird jack of all trades in Valorant then Skye is the agent for you. Here's all you need to know about her.

Before the official release of Skye, many of us speculated that she'll be an alternative to Sage since both of them have the ability to heal teammates. That turned out to be far away from the truth as Skye isn't a Sentinel like Sage but an Initiator with plenty of tools to mess with the enemy.

Skye Abilities Guide: Regrowth

Skye's first ability, Regrowth, is what caused us to think she'll compete with Sage.

EQUIP a healing trinket. HOLD FIRE to channel, healing allies in range and line of sight. Can be reused until her healing pool (Health.png 100) is depleted. Skye cannot heal herself.

Unlike Sage, Skye has the ability to heal all allies within the range of Regrowth. This makes it shine as an entire team can get some solid healing at the same time. The downside is that you all have to stand cluttered together and a rocket from Raze might drop in and nuke you. Life's a risk.

Skye Abilities Guide: Trailblazer

Skye's second skill is quite interesting to use.

EQUIP a Tasmanian tiger trinket. FIRE to send out and take control of the predator. While in control, FIRE to leap forward, exploding in a concussive blast and damaging directly hit enemies.

Trailblazer allows you to control the spirit of a Tasmanian tiger and scout exactly where you need. The tiger has 100 health and can be killed by enemies. If you managed to explode it within a foe, they'll be dazed for 3 seconds and take 30 damage. The total control time you have is 5 seconds so better make use of it. This also makes it ineffective at longer distances.

Skye Abilities Guide: Guiding Light

Her signature ability, Guiding Light, is essentially a flashbang but it's somewhat unreliable and it can be destroyed.

EQUIP a hawk trinket. FIRE to send it forward. HOLD FIRE to guide the hawk in the direction of your crosshair. RE-USE while the hawk is in flight to transform it into a flash that plays a hit confirm if an enemy was within range and line of sight.

The good thing about this flash is you'll get audio confirmation if any enemy was affected by it. The bad news is, well the haw itself. Since you can't control it like the tiger, sometimes it'll end up not going where you want it. Even Shroud here is having some issues landing the hawks.

On the plus side, Skye can hold up to three charges of Guiding Light.

Skye Abilities Guide: Seekers

Skye's ultimate ability is Seekers. With it, you can get some useful info on enemy locations.

EQUIP a Seeker trinket. FIRE to send out three Seekers to track down the three closest enemies. If a Seeker reaches its target, it nearsights them.

The Seeker spirits have 150 health and can be killed by enemies. They'll search for a target for 15 seconds and if they reach an enemy, they'll nearsight them. Not the most impressive ultimate in Valorant, but at least it serves the team right?

Skye Strategy

As we mentioned earlier, Skye is definitely not competing with Sage. The only other agent that's quite like her is Breach. Both have three flashbangs, both have daze, and both are Initiators. When you compare the two even further, Breach's flashes are actually better, and he has more tools to initiate but sometimes Skye's healing might make all the difference. If you choose to go with Sky your main tasks will be gathering intel with the tiger and ultimate while also flashing for your teammates and healing them when possible.

Skye Tips and Tricks

Here are some useful hints when using Skye:

  • Guiding Light has a time limit and if you fail to activate it, the hawk will just disappear without flashing anyone.
  • The hawk from Guiding Light can be destroyed by enemies and that'll prevent the flash.
  • It might take you some time to learn how to control the hawk with your cursor so make sure you practice it.
  • Unlike Guiding Light, Trailblazer has only a single charge but it's still worth using it before anything else to gather info.
  • Regrowth can only heal teammates and not Skye. It also requires allies to be both in range and line of sight.
  • Seekers are great for retaking a site and finding camping enemies. Following the spirit directly behind might be a bad idea.
  • Skye is usually better on attack and it's where she truly shines with all her scouting and initiation tools.

Skye certainly looks like a Breach 2.0 but offers some slight differences that might make you choose her over the Swede. Do you see a lot of Skye in your matches? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
