It's official; Riot is adding a new Sentinel Agent to Valorant! In addition to announcing another character in the universe, we also got an explanation of the changes in the latest Valorant patch.
Last week was somewhat controversial in terms of Agent changes. We still didn't get Viper nerfs, or Yoru rework, but we did get some KAY/O, Skye, and Jett tweaks. There's no denying — ranked play is no longer what it used to be. The meta has changed, and Riot wants to change it up even more by adding a new Sentinel Agent to the game. We've known about this Deadeye Agent for a long time, but today the game devs explained to us exactly what direction they will be going in the upcoming Valorant Patches.
New Sentinel Valorant Agent
In a new Riot blog post written by one of Valorant's producers, John Goscicki, we were assured that our experience with the new Agent would be "magnifique". By the way, this may confirm leaks from a few months ago that suggested the new Agent will be French!
It’s been a bit since our Robo Boyo KAY/O has been out neutralizing Radiants. While he's been out there adding to our pool of flashes, we've been refining our upcoming Agent. We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster. A Sentinel that focuses on mechanical outplays, with an additional focus of gunplay into the mix for an extra flourish. We won’t reveal much more, just know that once you achieve that dream moment, it will be magnifique!
This quote is summed up by the following image, which matches well with this Deadeye image that's been flying around the internet for the last few months. You can see it, right?
Unfortunately, we cannot see what might be written on this card. This image is so small for a reason; apparently Riot doesn't want to reveal too much for now.

Possible Deadeye Agent Abilities
Until recently, we had no idea what Deadeye might specialize in, but now we have a clue. Let's quote it again:

Could they be referring to Deadeye's abilities? Will we be able to throw traps that mimic weapons? After today's blog post from Riot, it seems quite possible. If we learn anything new about Deadeye, we'll let you know, so be sure to follow our Valorant section, as it promises to be an exciting time for the game!
