The Valorant competitive scene offered plenty of action during the weekend as we saw the conclusion of the NA VCT Stage 2 Challengers 1. 100 Thieves grabbed the trophy after defeating XSET and secured a spot in the regional finals.

Teams in every competitive Valorant region are trying to earn a spot in the upcoming Masters 2 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Yesterday we saw the best North America had to offer as four of the eight teams in the VCT NA Stage 2 Challengers 1 secured a spot for the finals.

100 Thieves Take the Title

The Valorant Champions Tour North America Stage 2 Challengers 1 is just a qualifier. Generally speaking, it's not the most important event out there, but it can certainly mean the world to some participants. Those who make it to the top, earn a spot in the Challengers Finals. The best performers from the latter can then make their way to Masters 2 in late May. 100 Thieves earned some well-deserved rest after securing a spot for the Challengers Finals.

100 Thieves had an amazing run throughout the event, and they're without a doubt one of the best teams in the NA region. In the grand finals, they faced XSET, a team we haven't heard much of that surprised everyone. XSET have been around since 2020, but they've only started getting good results this year. This is by far the most-contested event they've taken part in and second place is quite impressive considering the competition.

Some big names in North America like Sentinels and TSM were missing from the event. TSM flopped during the qualifiers for the event, losing to Immortals and Sentinels fell to Built By Gamers. Ironic, considering the latter won Masters 1 just a few weeks back.

Team Envy and Version 1 placed third and fourth respectively. The four teams have earned a spot in the upcoming Challengers regional finals which are set for April 29. Aside from them, four more teams will be determined by the VCT NA Stage 2 Challengers 2 coming on April 22. Which team are you rooting for? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
