Sage alone doesn’t quite cut it.

T1 one of the most successful Valorant teams in NA benched Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham for the time being until he expands his agent pool.

The Valorant scene in North America is quite intense as there are a couple of top teams competing for the first spot. So far TSM is definitely the more dominant team in the region with numerous titles behind their back. T1, a team that’s really good on theory is somewhat lacking in results. In the recent Pittsburgh Knights Gauntlet, the team played without its star player - Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham. Filling in for him was the squad’s captain Daniel ‘fRoD’ Montaner.

Skadoodle got his fans worried about his competitive future in Riot’s new shooter and posted an update:

As you may have noticed, I haven't been playing with the squad in competitions, and again won't be competing in this weekend's event. I have been grinding to expand my agent pool and overall impact with the OP and will be back with T1 when the time is right, but in the meantime am going to be practicing with other teams to stay sharp. I'll be back soon and better than ever

That’s certainly a formidable choice – deciding to step down from one of the biggest teams in order to improve your skills. There’s still no guarantee we’ll see Skadoodle on T1 anytime soon, but at least we know why. In the long run, he’ll be playing on other teams before eventually returning to the org.

Skadoodle’s position on the team has been questioned in the past as two of his teammates unintentionally revealed their chat during a stream. Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “food” Wong mentioned that the former CS:GO star was holding them back big time.

It’s unclear which team Skadoodle will join to polish his skills, but we’re quite certain it won’t be one of the big organizations. We’re really impressed with his performance on Sage, but it’d be nice to see him get proficient on other agents as well. In the meantime, T1 might start looking for a replacement player (temporary or not). For now, the team’s coach will probably be playing as a stand-in for Skadoodle.

What do you think? Was Skadoodle really the biggest problem in the T1 line-up? Is it just the team lacking synergy? Share your opinion on our Facebook page!
