The latest Apex Legends online event was revealed as the TSM Invitational with a prize pool of $25,000.

Much like almost any other esports title out there Apex Legends had to cancel all of its LAN events due to the coronavirus. This meant no Premiers and no Majors, so the company switched most of the tournaments into online ones. The prize pools for those were also increased accordingly.

New season, new events

Apex Legends Season 5: Fortune’s Favor kicked off on May 12 and fans have a lot to look forward to this week. The new season will offer plenty of new content – a new legend, a map rework, a battle pass, a PvE mode, visuals and more.

Among other things, the competitive scene also got a new addition thanks to Team SoloMid. Announced for this Sunday, May 17, the Apex Legends TSM Invitational will gather some of the most popular content creators. The news came from the team’s official Twitter.

Exclusive to pros only

Remaining true to its name the event will be invite-only, so it’ll be restricted to pro players, streamers, and content creators. A total of 20 teams will go head to head for the $25,000 prize pool. As the tweet above suggests, every team will have a captain and the names of the participants are still unknown. Fans will have the chance to tag their favorite players and TSM will give another update in the next few days with the full list.

As mentioned above, Apex Legends Season 5 starts this week and it’ll bring a whole lot of changes. This means that experienced veterans of the title will have to once again adapt to both the new legend Loba and the drastic map changes like Skulltown no longer being on the map.

TSM is one of the most iconic organizations in North America, with its main game being League of Legends. Most recently, the team announced that they’re also looking to hire a pro Valorant roster in order to compete in Riot’s upcoming tactical shooter. Besides LoL and Apex Legends, the organization has teams Fortnite, PUBG, TFT, and more.
