Red Bull Untapped is back for Season 2 of the high-stakes MTGA esports tournament. The 16 Qualifiers running from May to June will build up to the Red Bull Untapped Finals and the fight for the big prize.

Applications for the Qualifiers will soon open on melee.gg and the first event will be played May 16-17 live on Twitch – a great way to experiment with that new Esports button on the home page.

There will be two types of tournament formats.

  • The International Online Qualifiers with no participant limit and accessible to everyone on the globe. These will be 2-day events played from home with a prize pool of $5,000 each.
  • Online Country Qualifiers, only accessible to players in certain regions and where the player limit will depend on that region. Prize pools here include $5,000 per Online Regional Qualifier divided over Top 8

All in all, this is very exciting for serious competing players for Magic: The Gathering, especially in the current difficult situation of canceled events are rescheduled prerelease parties. For all things MTGA esports, keep it here, on EarlyGame!
