Nintendo Switch Pro - the rumors about a new and improved version of Nintendo's current console have been going on for a long time and they just won't stop! Instead, the rumor mill is working overtime again as they are further fueled by a new data mine: The well-known data miner SciresM found hints of a new model of the Nintendo Switch in the latest firmware update from Nintendo at the beginning of January. According to this, the model is codenamed Aula and supports 4K graphics. It has already been reported in the past that a new Switch will run games in 4K. In September, rumors talked about Nintendo asking its Switch game developers to make their games also capable of 4K. The dataminer also mentions an improved display and an OLED screen - rumors about the display made the rounds some time ago as well.
Rumors of a Nintendo Switch Pro are nothing new and have been discussed for quite some time. It can be assumed that Nintendo will release an improved version of the Switch in the future - whether sooner or later. With the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S, the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft are out after all - in the long run, Nintendo will have to follow suit. Even though they have publicly emphasized so far that they want to stick to the current Switch and the Switch Lite and concentrate on these console models, as Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser recently said in an interview.
