There is hardly a video game genre more fitting for the esports scene than fighting games. Those who like to let their fists fly, at least virtually, will soon have the opportunity to do so in the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, the current edition of the legendary MK series, has some big things coming. Neatherrealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games announced the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 with a start date of December 5.

Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2

Mortal Kombat 11 has been a massive success. We certified it as the best version of the series in our own review and many fans think alike. Enough to turn MK11 into the best-selling Mortal Kombat game ever. To cap out on the interest in the release, Warner Bros. announced a new esports season.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 will be played exclusively online on PlayStation 4 by using the exclusive tournament function of Sony consoles.

Registration is open already via the official Sony homepage, which also serves as the information center for the tournament. There you can find everything about the registration, all of the matches, live updates on leagues, and general information.

How Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 Works

There will be three leagues divided by region. There will be eight separate regular online season events for players to earn Pro Kompetition points. You will need these to enter the regional finals. A total of $60,000 will be divided between the leagues.

The global leagues of Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition: Season 2 include:

  • North American League - North America East & North America West
  • InterKontinental Kombat - Europe, Middle East & Oceania
  • Liga Latina - Brazil, Mexico, Latin America North & Latin America South

The following conditions of participation apply to online games:

  • Own or have access to Mortal Kombat 11 for PS4
  • Active subscription for PlayStation Plus
  • Valid PlayStation Network account with a corresponding PSN ID
  • Minimum age: 18 years

Registration for the first qualifier on December 5 is closed, but you can register for the second event on December 12.
