Resident Evil Village to be Released in May
Perhaps the most important information at the beginning: Resident Evil Village, also called Resident Evil 8 by many, has finally received a concrete release date. The next part of the survival horror series will be released on May 7, 2021. Contrary to expectations it'll be released not only for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but also for PS4 and Xbox One. So that almost everyone can enjoy the gloomy adventure - with the exception of Nintendo disciples, who once again come away empty-handed.
Those who buy Resident Evil Village for the last-gen consoles will also get a free next-gen upgrade. Well, we think that's nice. Pre-orders are now open. Pre-order bonuses include a weapon ornament in the form of a Mr. Raccoon pendant and the Survival Resource Pack, which should make it easier to get started with the game.

The Versions of Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village is released in three versions. In addition to the Standard Edition, Capcom also offers a Digital Deluxe Edition and Collector's Edition on all platforms.
The Digital Deluxe Edition also features content inspired by its direct predecessor Resident Evil 7 - including a special soundtrack for shelters, special graphics filters, and a revolver.
The noble Collector's Edition also comes with a lot of additional content. In addition to the main game, you will also find the following bonuses in the chic collector's box:
- Trauma Pack DLC
- Chris Redfield Figure
- 64-Page Hardcover Art Book
- Reversible Microfiber Cloth Map
In addition, Resident Evil Village will be sold in a bundle with the seventh installment of the series.
PS5 Demo & New Story Details
That's not all, because the approximately 17-minute event had even more to offer. Owners of a PlayStation 5 have reason to rejoice because a free demo version of Resident Evil Village is now available for download.
So: fire up the console, visit the PlayStation Store and start getting spooked! In the spring, another demo including new content will be offered on all platforms, but there is no concrete date yet.
The Story of Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village continues the story of Ethan from part 7, who sets out to find his kidnapped daughter. You'll explore a seemingly abandoned village and eventually reach a gloomy castle, which is one of the main locations of the game.
There you'll take on the lady of the house and her dark daughters, who are apparently equipped with supernatural abilities and are supposed to make your blood run cold. The mysterious Mother Miranda pulls the strings in the background, but the developers haven't revealed what the antagonist is all about yet. By the way, Resident Evil Village is played from the first-person perspective, just like its predecessor.
Details About the Multiplayer: RE:Verse
Resident Evil Village will also feature a multiplayer part called RE:Verse. This is a third-person shooter with an unusual cel-shaded look.
RE:Verse offers multiplayer games for four to six players and is included with the main game as a free add-on. Fresh gameplay scenes from the online mode and Resident Evil Village can be seen in the showcase.
