Since 2016, many fans of the JRGP spin-off of Monster Hunter have been waiting for a sequel. Now Capcom has finally announced the release date of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

What is Monster Hunter Stories 2: Winds of Ruin?
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a story-based JRPG. It is a spin-off of the Monster Hunter series. However, you can't expect the usual action brawl as in the main series. Besides the art style, Stories differs from its big brother in two other ways:
- Monster Hunter Stories has a turn-based battle system. You let your characters execute attacks one after the other, similar to Pokémon.
- In Monster Hunter Stories you aren't a hunter, as the name suggests, but a monster rider. Thus, you'll make friends with the creatures instead of turning them into armor.

When Is The Monster Hunter: Wings of Ruin Release Date?
Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be coming to Nintendo Switch on July 9, 2021, and to PC via Steam. If and when console ports are planned remains to be seen. The release trailer looks pretty fancy and has the typical JRPG look:
