KFC is releasing a console: The KFConsole. This is true and real and not a joke. Yes, KFC - as in Kentucky Fried Chicken - known for their finger licking good food are now releasing a finger clicking good gaming system. It’s hard to specify it as a console, even though KFC is directly addressing the PS5 and Xbox Series X in their promo materials. In reality, this system is much more of a gaming computer – and a powerful one at that:

The KFConsole sports the following specs:

➤ Intel Nuc 9 CPU

➤ Seagate Barracuda 1TB SSD

➤ Nvidia GPU with Ray Tracing

➤ The GPU can be hot swapped

➤ VR Ready

➤ It can keep your chicken warm

Yup, the latter is not a joke either: The gaming PC made by KFC and Cooler Master can actually keep your chicken warm, by using the heat generated by the system itself.

Allegedly, the KFConsole will be capable of 4K at 240 fps. That is legit gaming power, and it will likely come at a price: The Intel CPU alone is valued at $1500, so it is entirely realistic that the KFConsole will come in at a price north of $2000. That's a big price tag for the gaming system and puts it in a different league from the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

It will be interesting to see what this VR-capable KFC console will truly bring to the gaming scene. Will it be more at home with the PC crowd or the console gamers? Also, what games will run on the chicken-ready powerhouse? We’re assuming a Steam, GOG and/or Epic integration. We do know that the console comes with a controller, so it seems that it wants to position itself more on the TV-side of gaming, rather than being considered a desktop PC. All this is speculation at this point, and we are really, really curious to see how this one turns out. The original release date for the KFConsole was November 12, but that was back when it was first announced in June 2020. The release has since gotten delayed due to Covid, but if such an early release was a possibility, we believe that the new console is not too far away from hitting the market. If you ask us, you can expect the KFC game console (or KFC gaming PC, depending on what you want to call it) to get a release date in early 2021.

Thus, this newest gaming system is not a gimmick. This is a true gaming powerhouse, capable of serious next-gen performance. In that regard, the comparison to the PS5 and Xbox Series X is off, as the system is significantly more powerful than either of the next-gen systems.
