CD Projekt Red is sorry: The developer apologized for the state that Cyberpunk 2077 was released in. They are so sorry, in fact, that they are now refunding console players for their Cyberpunk 2077 purchase. Gamers that bought the game for the PlayStation or the Xbox can now get a refund. How is simple:

Contact helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com.

From there, you will get the help needed to get your money back. The important thing to note is that this service is only available until December 21.

Refunding is possible for both the digital and the disc version. For digital purchases, CD Projekt Red asks players to refund via the system's respective in-store refund options first. However, if that proves unhelpful, players can email the address written above.

For anyone that is still patient, CDPR promise massive patches that should drastically improve the performance of the game. They admit that Cyberpunk 2077 will never look or perform on the current gen as advertised, but they promise significant improvements. These improvements are not going to make the game run like it does on next-gen or high spec PCs though. Still, this is good news to PS4 and Xbox One players, who might be looking for a return on their investment.

Good move by CD Projekt Red, though it is a shame that the game was delivered in such a poor state in the first place. Also, one has to wonder if Microsoft and Sony are happy about this – after all the refunds will have to run through their people. Though it should also be noted that Sony already offered a limited number of people a refund for the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 beforehand.

Let's see what the patches bring to the table. For now, they are scheduled for January and February next year...
