Meepo the Geomancer is considered to be one of the most difficult heroes to play in Dota 2. It is time-consuming, complicated, you need really good micro skills, and a lot of focus during the game. Simply put, you are not playing one hero, you are playing four of them at the same time.
Here are the three main elements to the Dota 2 hero Meepo:
- Being the Leader
Meepo and the Stats
One of the most important aspects to understand about Meepo is stats. The clones and the main hero share the same abilities, stats and boots.
For example, if you buy a Daedalus, it will only work on your main hero since only the base stats are shared between the Meepo clones. So if you buy an Ethereal blade which gives +40 Agi, +10 Str and +10 Int, it will give your main and the clones all the stats, too. The most important stats you need on the hero are attack speed and armor.
Farming with Meepo
When you start to practice Meepo in Dota 2, the first things you should learn are the keybinds, microing, and farming efficently.
This hero has a somewhat good place in the meta because of its ability to farm fast and out-pace the enemy cores. This usually results in you snowballing and eventually winning the game. It sounds simple in theory, but in practice, it's a lot more complicated.
Every Dota 2 pub-star player has their own farming patterns. Some contest the mid lane harder, others just completely abandon it and focus on their item timings instead such as getting an Ethereal blade in less than 12 minutes which is a very fast timing.
The perk of playing with Meepo is that you can be in several places at once and this allows you to farm more than the enemy cores. Also, however, this means that your allied cores get less. Therefore, it is really important to have a good farming pattern as this will allow you to reach your item timings faster and end the game quickly before the enemy cores have a chance to set up.
Being The Leader
Dota 2 is all about in-game callouts, so you need your team to listen to you if you want to achieve any objective.

Meepo plays best when you are also the leader of your Dota 2 team. Meepo is a complicated hero that cannot work in certain team compositions, but with the right team lineup, he excels as a core.
So, as a Meepo player, you need to play both the role of core and the team leader. This way you can dictate the flow of the game and take fights on your terms and when your item timings are ready.
Item and Skill Builds
