A few days after the free battle royale shooter was leaked from Ubisoft, the game was launched on Thursday evening. Check out all we know about Hyper Scape.
Hyper Scape is the name of the new, free battle-royale-shooter from Ubisoft, which was leaked just at the beginning of the week and started surprisingly last night. We have all the information about the multiplayer game. The next Free2Play hit after the Trackmania comeback?
Hyper Scape: Attack on CoD: Warzone and Apex Legends
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and set in the distant future of 2054, Hyper Scape takes up to one hundred players into the virtual city of Neo-Arcadia to battle for the crown of the champion in an action-packed, fast-paced match.
However, access to the Beta has now launched in the USA and Europe but is still limited. Similar to the Valorant announcement, however, various streamers will distribute access through Twitch drops. Ubisoft has already revealed how exactly this works and which streamers are included.
Hyper Scape Gameplay
Hyper Scape is designed from the ground up as an intense, vertical and fast Battle Royale shooter. Three-player squads and solo players immerse themselves in the futuristic, virtual city of Neo-Arcadia and fight each other in dynamic firefights. A special feature of the game are the hacks:
Hacks are special abilities that are spread all over the map and can be collected like weapons. They unlock offensive and defensive abilities that can be adapted to individual game tactics.
These include mines, enemy scans, invisibility or protective walls that stop incoming fire. The hacks can be intuitively combined and exchanged. The properties of all hacks and weapons can be continually improved with the Fusion feature.
A world with a lot of potential
Another special feature of Hyper Scape is the game world, which falls apart. Neo Arcadia dissolves into different areas. The unique echo feature sounds exciting, too, with which the players, after being eliminated, can still stay in the game.
At the end of each match in Hyper Scape, the showdown begins with the crown appearing on the map. There are two ways to win the round: whoever gets the crown and wears it with the squad for 45 seconds wins. Or, quite typical for the genre, you are the last surviving player or squad.
Twitch viewers can influence the game
Hyper Scape rewards players while watching live streams. Together with Twitch, the Hyper Scape Crown cast-Twitch extension was developed, allowing viewers to influence the game live. Viewers influence matches simultaneously by voting for different events, such as "Low Gravity" or "Unlimited Ammo", thus changing the course of the game for all players in the match.
Graeme Jennings, senior producer for Hyper Scape at Ubisoft Montreal, reveals:
We've created something truly unique and new by optimizing the experience so that fun and intensity are the top priority. We're really looking forward to the feedback and first impressions from the players, who can try it out for themselves right away.
Furthermore, Jennings reveals that Hyper Scape was conceived as a living game universe that should be constantly evolving - even during the Technical Test.

Hyper Scape will be playable on PC for a limited time during the technical test up until today July 7. The test includes the Crown Rush mode with three-player squads. Later, the likewise limited Dark Haze solo mode will follow.
Also included is a free 10-level battle pass. Game progress, as well as the equipment, will be transferred to the upcoming live phases and the final game. All details about Hyper Scape can be found again on the official homepage of the game. Hyper Scape will be released for PC first, with an implementation for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to follow later this year. A release for the next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X is also considered likely.
