  1. Aim
  2. Map Knowledge & Ability Lineups
  3. Game Sense

What Is Game Sense?

Most players who play Valorant competitively will define game sense as an ability to predict things upfront and adjust to them accordingly.

Of course, if you are new to this game, your game sense is way off. However, once you get the feel for it, you will learn how long it takes to rotate from one site to another, for example.

The Best Way to Improve Your Game Sense

The easiest way to work on your game sense is to simply play the game and try hard. Anticipate enemies in every corner and pre-fire those corners. On top of that, learn how defaults work and how long it takes for your opponents to flank you – and of course, adjust accordingly to possible actions.

We would also advise you to pay attention to streamers such as Michael "shroud" Grzesiek. Guys like him have loads of experience and their game sense is through the roof. It literally feels like he is seeing opponents through walls.

It is also important to mention that you should approach every competitive match with a do-or-die attitude. If you are playing Valorant competitively, try your best to win the game. Motivation is an important aspect of game sense in Valorant.

Things That Will Help Your Game Sense in Valorant

While playing a competitive match, many factors will contribute to your game sense. Here's a list of things that will help you read the situation and predict possible outcomes:

  • Map knowledge
  • Sound
  • Patience
  • Information provided by your teammates

The 4 things we mentioned above will definitely help while adjusting to what is happening around you. From our point of view, map knowledge and information provided by your teammates are the biggest factors if you use them properly.

In most scenarios, you will get teammates who do not talk that often or not at all. This is why in-game sound is your only choice. The same goes for patience. At times, you will get teammates who do not care and rush sites without any setup nor abilities. Those teammates will die.

Don't be like that. Take a patient approach to every match and wait for your chance. More often than not, your opponents will push if there is no action happening on their side – they have their impatient teammates, too. If you can place your crosshair head height, you are in for a good time. Out of 10 tries, you will get at least 8 kills, especially if you hold an off-angle.

All in all, we went through three main tips on how to get better at Valorant. By applying this to your training and competitive game, your win ratio will definitely increase and in most cases, you will start to hard carry your matches.
