Yes, we know: Skyward Sword HD only just dropped! The thing is, though, that not everybody is particularly excited for a remake of Skyward Sword on the Switch. What would more people be keen for? More Zelda Remakes Coming to the Switch
More Zelda Remakes may be making their way onto the Nintendo Switch, according to Twitch leaker Markomaro. Now, keep in mind that this particular leaker has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to reliability, but many of his recent claims have been corroborated by other sources. His most reliable claim in this case is that the Switch will be getting Twilight Princess and Wind Waker remakes, and he even claims that those ports are all finished and ready to go.
Even more excitingly, though, is that it is now rumored that we will be getting an N64 port of Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time on the Switch. The current theory, according to Markomaro, is that these will simply be direct ports of the N64 versions of those games, simply up-scaled to the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully this is wrong, as a fully-fledged Link's Awakening-style remake would be incredible for those classics.
It's also believed that we may be getting a remake of Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, two fantastic Gameboy Color games. After the insane success of Link's Awakening's Switch Remake, if this is done right, it could be an absolute highlight – we can't wait to find out if this is real!
As i Said before, even if N said no more Zelda for the anniversary, WW and TP are done for a while so there will come sooner than later, Don't know anything about OOT And MM HD (but something abut the N64 ver. that maybe we will know later this year). pic.twitter.com/1WKHFOegx6— markomaro (@Newmarkomaro) July 16, 2021
What Zelda Games Will Get a Switch Remake?
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (direct N64 Port)
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (direct N64 Port)
- The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons
As we always say, these are leaks, so don't take them one hundred percent seriously. Nothing has been announced, and leaks are often wrong – there were already leaks this year that we would be getting Twilight Princess and Wind Waker remakes, but instead we got Skyward Sword. Take all of these Zelda Switch remakes with a pinch of salt!
As i state a year ago, there is a remake for Oracles of Ages/Seasons in the works (2022-2023) there where plans to include a third game that was planned originally for the GBC, what it's clear at least since the start it's that will be separate releases. pic.twitter.com/BW2cPwKiYe— markomaro (@Newmarkomaro) July 16, 2021
Will the Zelda Remakes Come Out in 2021?
It's unlikely that any more Zelda Remakes will come out in 2021, and more likely we will see them in 2022. It is rumored that Nintendo are waiting for a break in their release cycle, and it could even be as far off as 2023, since Breath of the Wild 2 is coming out next year. They might not want to over saturate their audience with Zelda games over the next year, to give BOTW 2 a bit of space to breath. That being said, it is Zelda's 35th Anniversary, so perhaps we could be up for something a little sooner?
