You all know the deal by now, Fortnite & Epic Games has fans eating out of their hand like a kid who is only allowed to drink soda at a birthday party, thirsty AF. And since Fortnite: Nightmares has just started, this is the best time to bring even more crossovers to the game, like the Rick Grimes skin from The Walking Dead. And of course, Fortnite fans are whispering on social media about which character might be coming to Fortnite next, and even though Epic prefers to be cautious with the information we like to wield and deal in rumors.
Don't forget that two seasons ago, a strange spider web pattern appeared in the official teasers of Fortnite. Although it was only a guess at the time, some assumed that it meant much more. And Fortnite leaker Hypex has now done one better, claiming that Epic is working on a feature in the game that will allow players to swing! I mean, you see it in the title and the picture, but yeah, we're talking about none other than Spider-Man!
Is Spider-Man Coming to Fortnite in Chapter 2, Season 8?
Official tweets by Epic have had spider webs embedded in the background since early October. The first time the webs were noticed was in the tweet with the "Everybody Loves Me" emote. Later, again in a tweet that introduced the glyph echo bundle.
HUGE POSSIBILITY FOR A SPIDER-MAN x FORTNITE COLLAB THIS YEAR!— HYPEX (@HYPEX) October 12, 2021
Epic are working on an item codenamed WestSausage (could mean Web Slinger) and it has swinging mechanics! (here is some text of it: "Swing Attach Location, Swing Detach Time, Swinging, Swing Accelerate, Swing Jump" pic.twitter.com/9Na4MGNwW4
Among other things, the Web-Slinger item has these abilities in the game files:
- Swing Attach Location
- Swing Detach Time Swinging
- Swing Accelerate
- Swing Jump
If these details are correct, it could explain why Spider-Man took a little longer to get to Fortnite compared to other Marvel characters.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is coming in December and could be the most eagerly anticipated MCU movie since Avengers: Endgame. So, of course, it would make sense for Fortnite to do another Marvel collaboration in conjunction with the movie. This could point to when the skin is released.
Given that the Carnage skin has finally been added to the game, the possibility of Spider-Man coming to Fortnite soon as well isn't that far-fetched. Unfortunately, without an official confirmation, Fortnite & Spider-Man fans will have to be patient until then, but if it is in the game files and a huge movie is coming out... it is definitely happening. Now it's just a matter of when.
