A new Fortnite leak has some fans suspecting that the next guest star will come from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. So, what's the scoop?

Fortnite is known for its various crossovers. In addition to musicians and movie characters, characters from other video games have also appeared in the game, such as Kratos and Master Chief. Now, a guest star from the horror game Five Nights at Freddy's may be joining them!

Freddy Fazbear in Fortnite?

The rumor comes from prominent Fortnite leaker @HYPEX, who pointed out that the game has a new skin hidden in its files, codenamed “FrenchFry”. The leaker points out that previous codenames for Fortnite skins have often used the same initials as the new skins.

Before the release of the skin based on Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, for example, a codename called “TourBus” was found. According to @HYPEX, this could indicate that Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy's could be the next star to feature in Fortnite!

In addition to the codename, sounds of the character's footsteps have also been discovered. You can hear them in the video below...

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 focuses on the biggest hunters in the universe, and it will be interesting to see if Freddy Fazbear will be the next one added to the game! For those who don't know Five Nights at Freddy's:

The game is a point-and-click survival horror game. It's set in an unused pizzeria, where four moving stage characters, known as animatronics, take on a life of their own at night. They were once the main attraction of the pizzeria, which has a long and eventful history behind it. The place was closed due to missing children, and poor hygiene conditions.

The animatronics try to break into the security office every night to kill the night watchman, who works there for six hours. He can only fend off the characters by keeping an eye on them via surveillance cameras, and closing his office doors at appropriate times.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the codename “FrenchFry” is the initials for an entirely different character, but it's hard to think of anyone else who could fit that description. For now, I guess we'll wait and see...
