Fortnite players who were prevented from playing the game on their iOS and Mac devices due to the Epic Games and Apple lawsuit may receive some V-Bucks. What needs to be done? Not much!
For those who were once able to play Fortnite on iOS or Mac devices, Epic Games is giving away free V-Bucks to make up for game updates blocked by Apple. Players of Fortnite on iOS mobile and Mac devices have not had access to the latest updates since August due to pending litigation between Epic Games and Apple.
These Players Receive the Free V-Bucks
Epic Games announced through the Fortnite Status Twitter account that selected Fortnite iOS players would receive some extra V-Bucks. This does not apply to all Fortnite players, but only to those who have purchased V-Bucks through the Apple App Store and have not yet spent them. Epic Games will double the number of unspent V-Bucks purchased through the App Store for iOS and the Epic Games Store for Mac. The bonus V-Bucks can then be issued on any other platform.
The V-Bucks should be visible on the respective accounts by now.
The V-Bucks that you can spend on other platforms are technically the ones you already owned anyway, which means that you get your own money back, so to speak, via the currency in the game. Still, the bonus is not bad, considering how Fortnite's cross-progression system works. V-Bucks are cross-platform compatible in several cases, but not when it comes to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. V-Bucks that you buy on other platforms usually cannot be issued for these consoles. However, with this bonus even this is possible. Pretty cool move from Epic, right? And who knows... it looks like we might even play Fortnite on the iOS devices again in the future.
