The season questline in Apex Legends called The Broken Ghost, has come to an end, but it gave us more questions than answers. Is the next map in Olympus?
Fans of Titanfall will be pleased as Apex Legends keeps making references to the other successful title by Respawn Entertainment. At the start of Season 5, Respawn introduced a PvE mode, which focused a lot on the game’s lore. Each week, a new quest will appear in the form of a hunt. The final one players can now experience is “The enemy of my enemy”.
For the final quest, you can play any legend except Revenant or Loba. You drop with an upgraded R-99 and Mastiff. The first objective during the hunt is a bit different from what we’ve seen so far. You’ll have to absorb five shadow totems while dealing with prowlers. After you’re done absorbing, your weapons will become unavailable and all you’re going to have is melee attacks. Get to the drill, activate it, and wait for the artifact extraction. Once that’s up, you’ll be back to your normal state, but you’ll also get a nice speed boost. Get to the dropship and complete the quest. Then you get the piece of lore.
The Epilogue of The Broken Ghost quest will have you drop down a hatch and complete the final piece of the puzzle, by putting Ash’s head back on a body. It all ends on a cliffhanger as once reactivated Ash doesn’t share much besides "Your path ends here. Welcome to Olympus".
There’s another piece of lore right after it though.
Most notably in it, we see Psamathe, Olympus, a location that Lifeline mentions that they have to visit. Olympus is well established within the Apex universe as a floating city in the sky. Despite that there's a lot we don’t know about Season 6 right now. Will Ash become a playable legend? Is the next map going to be on Olympus? Should we expect even more weapons from Titanfall to make it into Apex?
All of these questions will hopefully be answered in the weeks to follows. Season 6 is still over a month away as the Battle Pass is set to come to an end on August 18. The next season is expected to drop soon after that. So far there have been two main maps in Apex Legends, which suffered some adjustments over the last year. Perhaps it's time for a new one and at this point, Olympus is all but guaranteed. There's another detail pointing towards it hidden in the trailer which presented Revenant in Season 4.
As usual, Respawn left some hints in plain sight and it took months to confirm them.
