There's a reason that the term hot tub meta became a thing at all. People wanna see it and those who think that it's done and over with are in for a rude awakening. Here are three reasons why the hot tub meta isn't going anywhere.
Never watched a hot tub stream? Then you're probably not spending much time on Twitch, because even now this type of content is still very prominent on the site. Here's why.
1. The Hot Tub Meta Is Already Too Big
When Twitch's idea of dealing with the situation is to create a category designed to fit specific content, you simply cannot deny said content's importance to the platform.

Many probably thought Amouranth losing her ad revenue was a sign that Twitch is shutting hot tub streamers down. After the creation of Pools, Hot Tubs and Beaches, it's clear that's not the case. The pool had simply become too large to be emptied.
2. The Hot Tube Meta Is Breaking Viewership Records
If you need numerical proof of reason no. 1, take a hold of this. The record viewership for a hot tub stream was broken twice in the span of the last two weeks. First, by Pokimane and the OfflineTV crew. Then, by GeorgeNotFound.
In both instances, no nudity was needed to attract the audience. The words "Pokimane hot tub stream" did the job all by themselves. That's how powerful the meta is months after becoming a thing.
3. The Hot Tube Meta Has Hot Girls in Bikinis
This could really be brought in any conversation, but it's vindicated when speaking of the hot tub meta for obvious reasons. We made it clear a couple sentences ago: nudity isn't even a necessary ingredient. However, when push comes to shove, hot tubs will continue to be a thing on Twitch because there's always going to be viewership potential when hot girls in bikinis are involved. Life is that simple sometimes.
So what do you think? Is a pair of bikinis enough to pull you in or do you need a hot girl around the bikini? Or a hot boy...? No judging here, you do you.
