Beyond the Summit’s DOTA Summit 13 conclude over the weekend and all the winners are now clear. Check out who took the title in each of the regions.
DOTA Summit 13 is over and we certainly saw some surprises in each of the regions. Without further ado let’s see who won where.
Some of the favorites for the SEA region included TNC Predator, BOOM Esports, and the stack of Among Us. The latter included some of the best players in the region with Abed “Abed” Yusop and Carlo "Kuku" Palad. The dominant team in the group stage proved to be Motivate.Trust Gaming. This trend continued well into the playoffs as MTG defeated Adroit Esports and Among Us to secure a spot into the grand finals. Among Us managed to make it back after defeating BOOM in the lower bracket finals.

The final series was a total stomp with Trust Gaming grabbing the champion’s title.
With Evil Geniuses out of the picture, Quincy Crew have completely taken the NA scene. The team has taken eight titles in a row and were basically the Team Secret of North America. Unfortunately, just like Secret, their streak came to an end. At DOTA Summit 13, Quincy Crew were once again favorites, along with 4Zoomers and the ex-CR4ZY roster now flying under the name catJAMMERS. The group stage didn’t give us any indication that anything will be different this time as QC had eight victories and one tie.
Jumping into the playoffs, Quincy Crew had an easy time securing a spot in the grand finals after defeating Thunder Predator and Team Zero. What we didn’t expect was Team Zero coming back to the grand finals and defeating the favorites after a heated series with 3:2.
So who are Team Zero? The roster includes some very familiar names from the NA Dota 2 scene:
- Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao
- Eric "Ryoya" Dong
- Braxton "Brax" Paulson
- Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu
- David "Moo" Hull
Europe was the only region where an underdog didn’t come out on top. The competition was vicious with multiple teams coming directly from ESL One Germany, including the winners of the latter – Team Liquid. Among the other favorites for DOTA Summit 13 Europe were Vikin.gg, Ninjas in Pyjamas, 5men and mudgolems. In the group stage mudgolems and Khan had a perfect score with 2 wins and 0 losses. It’s important to note that Vikin.gg and Team Liquid were already invited to the playoffs. It came as no surprise that the two teams ended up in the grand finals.
While some of us expected Liquid to come out as winners it turned out to be the exact opposite. Vikin.gg took the series 3:1.
With the end of DOTA Summit 13, the next big Dota 2 event in sight is the Epic League. The latter is set to kick off on November 12 and before that, you can catch the qualifiers on the Epicenter Twitch channel.
