Four new players joined the Gambit Esports Dota 2 team as the organization announced their new roster for the next competitive season.
We might not have had The International or a new season in the fall this year but roster shuffles sure are happening. The latest update comes from the CIS where Gambit Esports made some serious changes to their Dota 2 team.
Back in May the organization benched Maxim "Shachlo" Abramovskikh and loaned Artsiom "fng" Barshak to Alliance. This left them with only three players and the last time we saw Gambit play in the scene was at ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Europe & CIS. Their placement there ended at 15-16th out of 16 so there was definitely room for improvement.
Five months later the team did some changes by benching Kiyalbek "dream" Tayirov and Danil "gpk" Skutin. That left only Danial "XSvamp1Re" Alibaev within the active roster. The first new addition to the team was revealed by Virtus.pro as Albert "eine" Garaev.
The remaining three joining the squad are Andrey "meLes" Romanov coming from Cyberium Seed, Artem "Lorenof" Melnik switching from Team Unique, and Anton "yy" Shkredov who last played for Team Spirit. As Gambit themselves mentioned dream and gpk will remain benched. Whether the new squad will be on trial or the benched players will find a new team soon remains to be seen.

Gambit Esports’ last good performance was back in March during the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 where they made it to third place. This new roster is quite the wild card and we can’t wait to see them in action. Sadly, that might not be as soon as we expected. Gambit’s first big challenge will be the qualifiers for the DOTA Summit 13 qualifiers unless they get a direct invitation that is.
