We all know by now that Warzone has more than a few problems with it's netcode. No big surprise, although it is a little infuriating that the error codes don't tell us what the actual issue is; 5573, 6039, 0-1766, SAVANNAH, Diver, Goldflake ... Who actually comes up with all these names? Well, that's by the by, but now we also have Error Code 48, and here's how to fix it.
What Is Error Code 48?
Error Code 48 is an error that occurs in the event of a faulty download. The error pops up directly when you start Warzone and gives you the following error message:
The download failed. Do you want to try again?
Error code: 48
You can then either try to complete the download again or go offline. Since offline is of course not an option in Warzone, we have a few solutions for you below.
How To Fix Warzone Error Code 48
Since Error Code 48 is related to a faulty download, it's relatively easy to fix.
Check For Updates
Check your system for the last update and make sure that Warzone is really up-to-date.
If you've installed all the updates and the error code still appears, it can help to uninstall a single data pack and download it again.
Check your internet connection
Unsuccessful downloads can of course also be due to an unstable internet connection.
- Pull the plug on your router
- Wait a minute
- Plug the router back in
- Wait 5-10 minutes
- Restart Warzone and see if the download can be completed successfully
The last resort, if nothing else works, is to completely reinstall the game. Given the enormous size of Warzone, this is of course quite annoying, but what can you do?
Of course, what you could do is just switch to Vanguard and spend the few days the Warzone download takes in Vanguard multiplayer. We've already put together a guide on the best weapons to level up for Warzone:
