Clans are being introduced in Call of Duty: Vanguard, providing a whole new social aspect to this year's CoD. Let's take a look at the new CoD Vanguard Clans system, as well as Vanguard's cross-platform support and operators. Here's everything you need to know about Clans in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Tons of new features have been revealed by Sledgehammer Games in Call of Duty: Vanguard's Multiplayer Reveal. One of the key new features discussed is the new Call of Duty: Vanguard Clans System that Sledgehammer is introducing to improve the social aspect of Call of Duty. Vanguard's multiplayer looks to be a fresh take on World War 2, with some interesting operators, and some big changes to the formula. Let's dive in...

We covered the full Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer Reveal in detail. Check that out below, as well as other exciting Vanguard news!

What are Clans in Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Coming into the game, Vanguard Clans is a tier-one feature that allows you to pair up with your friends. It creates a whole new social-play environment that, according to Sledgehammer Games, will take socializing via Call of Duty to a whole new level.

Clans consist of a range of new social features for players to utilize, with total cross-gen and cross-platform support. In other words, gamers can play with their friends no matter what platform, or which generation they or their friends are playing on. Haven't been able to secure a PS5, but your friend has? No problem! Jump into Vanguard on your PS4 and you'll be able to play with your PS5 friend (or Xbox friend, or PC for that matter).

There will be twenty maps dropping with Call of Duty: Vanguard, and we will see the return of notable features like Tactical Sprint and Gunsmith. Create-A-Class is also a new feature, allowing players to choose a Primary, Secondary, Tactical, Perk, and Lethal. It is kind of similar to Modern Warfare 2019, but there will be no Wildcards. The Gunsmith will support up-to ten attachments.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Clan Features

  • Take control points in modes like Patrol with your clan
  • Progress with your clan, so no one is left behind
  • Clans are available cross-gen and cross-platform

More features will likely be announced down the line, and we will let you know as soon as they are announced.

Operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard's Clan System

Vanguard's Clan System will utilize all twelve at-launch Operators, each of whom have their own backstory. 2021's CoD game looks to be the most diverse yet, despite its World War 2 setting, with the developers looking to explore characters who are based on real-life people who participated in the world. Yes, that includes women. Yes, women were involved in WW2. No, Sledgehammer Games are not going "woke". Please don't use that tired and tedious argument.

Anyway, each Operator will have their own progression system, and can be upgraded to acquire finishing moves and cosmetic items. They also have varying playstyles. They have designed them this way to compliment the Vanguard Clan System, so that players can work together and utilize different abilities to form a strong and cohesive team. Honestly, this game just seems to be getting better and better...
