What happened to the New Crossbow in BOCW and Warzone?
BOCW & Warzone: R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow is Back Again! [UPDATED]

The new R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow from Black Ops Cold War briefly appeared in the Warzone store yesterday and could also be unlocked in Black Ops Cold War. Now it has disappeared. What happened? We have the answer.
Already at the beginning of Season 2, the new crossbow for Black Ops Cold War was announced and could be seen in the Season 2 trailer, among other things. Together with yesterday's playlist update, the crossbow seems to be available in the game now... at least it was for a short time.

While Warzone already has the crossbow from Modern Warfare, the R1 Shadowhunter is the first crossbow for Black Ops Cold War. One of the special features of the crossbow is that it doesn't count as a primary weapon, but as a secondary weapon like shotguns, rocket launchers, and pistols. Thus, it is possible to equip a primary weapon and the crossbow without the Overkill Perk, which should be a very powerful loadout.

How Do I Unlock the R1 Shadowhunter in BOCW?
To unlock the R1 Shadowhunter, you need to make 3 one-shot kills in each of 15 different matches with a weapon without attachments. The easiest way to do this is with one of the sniper rifles, as they make the most reliable one-shots.
However, there is a catch... the crossbow shouldn't even be in the game yet, which is why it was removed shortly after it appeared in the game. To the frustration of many players, the progress of the challenge to unlock it is also reset.

The crossbow can be unlocked again in Black Ops Cold War via the aforementioned challenge and purchased with a bundle in Warzone. Raven Software already announced that they are aware and taking care of an issue with people not being able to equip the crossbow in Warzone after purchase.

Update from March 22:
To the delight of many players, Activision announced that the progress to unlock R1 Shadowhunter will not be completely reset.

Players who have already completed the challenge will have their progress set to 14/15. They only have to do the 3 kills in one single match again to unlock the crossbow. Players who started the challenge will keep their current progress. Unlocked camos or progress for them will also remain.
Is the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow in Warzone?
The R1 Shadowhunter was briefly in the form of a bundle in the Warzone in-game store yesterday, but it was removed again. Many players were quite confused when the new crossbow suddenly appeared in the store. Until now, it wasn't even clear if the crossbow would be integrated into Warzone at all, and certainly not when.
Will it be available again in Warzone in the future? The question remains whether it will also be a secondary weapon like in BOCW. Some players have already announced that they will try to get a win with two crossbows.

Refunds are planned for players who purchased the bundle while it was live in the Store, and the bundle and in-game challenge will return at a later date.
Will the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow be back?
Yes, the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow will be back, but at a later date.
The R1 Shadowhunter was apparently accidentally brought into the game too early and has been removed again by Activision.
Activision confirmed on Twitter that the R1 Shadowhunter should not be in the game yet and has been removed from both Black Ops Cold War and the Warzone store. Players who have already purchased the bundle will receive a refund.
