In our regular setup guides, we introduce you to the best attachments for each weapon in Black Ops Cold War. This time we finally start with the LMGs and the first of these is also the strongest: the Stoner 63.

Looking for the best weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War? You have already found your favorite weapon, but you want to know which attachments you can use to get the best out of it? Then you've come to the right place! We show you the best weapons in Black Ops Cold War in galleries and in more detail in our setup guides.

Now that we've covered some assault rifles, MPs, tactical rifles, and snipers, today we'll turn our attention to LMGs. The Stoner 63 is the first LMG you unlock in Black Ops Cold War (at level 4). However, that doesn't mean it's bad by any means, in fact, it's quite the opposite.

The Stoner is the best LMG in the game and is one of the best weapons around. It has a higher rate of fire with significantly less recoil than the other LMGs, but also higher damage than an assault rifle. Overall, it sits between the assault rifles and the LMGs, combining the best of both classes. Sound familiar? Remember the Bruen Mk9 from Modern Warfare/Warzone? This LMG dominated the game for a long time, as it also combined all the advantages of both weapon classes.

Stoner 63 Setup

In order to make our setup accessible to all players, regardless of their chosen wildcard, we will again limit ourselves to the most important five attachments for the weapon. Those who use Gunfighter can occupy the remaining three slots according to their personal preference.

With the following attachments, we further expand the advantages of the weapon: Even more damage, precision and, as befits an LMG, quite a lot of ammunition:

  • Muzzle: Muzzle brake 5.56
  • Barrel: 21.8" Task Force
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent grip
  • Magazine: Salvo 125 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap

Let's start with the accuracy: The muzzle brake reduces vertical recoil by 8%, the Field Agent grip reduces vertical by another 8% and horizontal by 30%. With the Task Force barrel, we increase damage by 10% and both range and projectile acceleration by a full 100%. Since we lose some magazine capacity with the barrel, we take the huge Rapid Volley 125-round magazine with us. It not only increases our ammo by 67%, but also our reload speed by 25%. With the ammo loss through the barrel, we still get an impressive 116 rounds per magazine. Rounding out the setup is the Airborne Elastic wrap, which increases our velocity by 30% and our flinch resistance by 90%.

With this setup, you can deal incredibly high damage and hit your opponents safely from almost any distance. Due to the large magazine, reloading should only be necessary very rarely. Don't forget, it is still an LMG! In close combat, you are at a disadvantage due to your lower mobility. If you are looking for something different in Warzone, you should definitely give the Stoner 63 a chance.
