In a recent string of Tweets regarding this week's Playlist Update, Treyarch have confirmed that two maps are joining the BOCW League Play rotation to coincide with the start of CDL 2021. Along with the additions, a number of maps have been correspondingly removed from circulation.
It's time for more changes in Black Ops Cold War's League Play mode. The last few months have been tough, but we can assure you that the mode is improving. Oh, and that you will like these map changes!
What Are the New BOCW League Play Maps?
Being added to League Play will be two fan-favorites, Express S&D and Apocalypse HP. These two maps will be a welcome addition to League Play in Stage II, as Treyarch continues to tweak and improve BOCW's somewhat controversial ranked mode. If you ask our lazy bones, we will tell you that it is certainly Express that we are most excited for.
Express was a remake of a Black Ops 2 map, released with last season's mid-season update, dubbed at the time as Season 1: Reloaded. It features, honestly, a ton of cool s**t, including a train that circles the map and is excellent for smooshing your enemies. Apocalypse, on the other hand, is a fantastic medium-sized map also originally from Black Ops 2 and is a hell of a lot of fun!
What Is Being Removed From BOCW League Play?
Treyarch are removing two maps in the next BOCW League Play Update, both of which are solid in their own right, but nowhere near as good as the two additions discussed above. Being removed from BOCW League Play are:
- Crossroads HP
- Garrison S&D
What Is the BOCW League Play Update Release Date?
Express and Apocalypse will be jumping into our League Play modes later on March 18, 2021. It will coincide with the beginning of Call of Duty League 2021's Stage 2 competition. Thus, with CDL 2021 Stage 2 beginning super soon, you can expect to be playing Express and Apocalypse in our beautiful, moist, delicious League Play mode... insanely soon!
