This morning a new huge update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone went live. It brings the long awaited nerfs for the Grau, introduces the new Rytec AMR sniper, operator Roze and much more.

At 8 am CET this morning the Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded Update became available for download and to say it brings a few changes along would be a vast understatement.

You should be used to it by now – be prepared for a looong download. The update contains about 35 GB for PC and between 22-36 GB for consoles with an additional 3.5 GB download. Since there have been frequent criticisms because of the enormous update sizes, the developers again point out that the actual disk space required after the update is only a fraction of the download size. Furthermore, on consoles it is still possible to uninstall single data packs (e.g. the campaign or the co-op mode if you only want to play multiplayer) to make more room for the new stuff.

Season 4 Reloaded Update

There’s a lot of content to go over, so let’s not waste any time in preparation. Here’s what we got:

Playlist Update

Like every week, there are new playlists and a brand new mode for Warzone and the Modern Warfare multiplayer.

In multiplayer the new (was there before, but not in the current Call of Duty) mode Team Defender is introduced. Every team has to try to get a flag and defend the carrier as long as possible. Points are awarded for every second the flag is carried or for killing the flag bearer.

In addition, a new map called Cheshire Park will be introduced, which will directly receive its own Cheshire Park 24/7 playlist. The popular Shoot or Ship playlist will be back with two maps – Shipment and Shoothouse, which can be played.

Besides BR Solos, Duos, Trios and Blood Money there is now also the brand new BR Quads 200 mode. As the name suggests, this mode increases the number of players from 150 to 200. So there will be 50 quads fighting for victory at the same time. Christ!

There are new weapons in the Gulag. From now on you can randomly get semi-automatic rifles, sniper rifles or just fists and throwing knives in the Gulag. A Gulag sniper shootout would be a sight to behold.

With the supply runs a new order comes to Warzone. If you activate it, a nearby buy station will be marked. If you can reach it within the time limit, you will receive significant discounts on all killstreaks etc.

The Spotter Scope is a new reusable item that allows you to zoom in and out of the area and mark enemies. The special thing about it is that it doesn't reflect like the big visors and therefore doesn't give away your position.

New Operator

Roze is the third operator in Season 4 after Price and Gaz, and the Roze operator bundle must be purchased to activate the new operator. Roze will be a member of the Jackals faction on the side of the Loyalty Bundle. She is described as an ex-Ranger who specializes in close combat. The bundle will probably contain the Operator with an Enforcer animation, two weapon blueprints and other cosmetic items, as usual.

The update brings a new sniper rifle and a lot of changes for a bunch of weapons. The much requested nerf for the Grau and the MP5, which were hinted at last week, are a fact and should please most of the community.

New weapon: Rytec AMR

The new sniper rifle is a .50 caliber monster. It can either be purchased with the Lost Souls bundle or unlocked by a challenge. To unlock it, three Quick-Scope kills must be made in 15 matches. The semi-automatic rifle can apparently be equipped with explosive bullets. We are curious if it will replace the HDR in Verdansk as it does sound like a beast, at least on paper.

There’s quite literally 35 GB worth of content in the Season 4 Reloaded update, so for full clarity on all the changes made (most weapons have been altered in one way or another, so you wouldn’t want to be surprised while in combat), see Infinity Ward’s patch notes.
