BLAST got two new sponsors to back up Dota 2 Bounty Hunt – Kitkat and Steelseries. The event kicks off today and will offer some of the best competitive action.

Yesterday BLAST announced two new partnerships for the upcoming BLAST Dota 2 Bounty Hunt. The first one is with KitKat and the second partnership is with Steelseries.

KitKat

The agreement with KitKat will give the global chocolate manufacturer a number of branding and content activation opportunities during BLAST’s online Dota 2 tournament. The deal also includes sponsorship of an in-broadcast feature titled "Captain’s Kick Back". The feature will see team captains talk about their life in and outside of esports.

Leo Matlock, Commercial Director for BLAST, commented:

We’re thrilled to add a brand as reputable and well-known as KitKat to our family of partners ahead of BLAST’s first DoTa 2 tournament. KitKat is a global brand and we are proud that they have chosen BLAST to further develop their burgeoning esports strategy with a bespoke partnership that maximises our far-reaching and innovative tournament approach.

Georg Fischer, KitKat Marketing Manager Europe, Middle East & North Africa added:

KitKat has always been about a smile in the break and getting a fresh perspective which is also very relevant in gaming and the highly competitive esports environment. We made our first steps in esports earlier this year and were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from fans, teams and partners alike. This confirmed the strong fit between KitKat and the community, and we look forward to a great collaboration with BLAST to bring meaningful, fun content and surprises to the DoTa 2 Bounty Hunt!

Steelseries

The gaming accessory provider will offer peripherals including headsets, keyboards, mice and mousepads. The partnership will give SteelSeries a number of branding opportunities during BLAST’s inaugural Dota 2 tournament, including officially presenting all Bounties during the competition. Steelseries will also provide every analyst and commentator with SteelSeries headsets while they broadcast the event all around the world: BLAST Bounty Hunt will be broadcast in 29 territories across five continents.

Fans will have the chance to win a number of SteelSeries products through giveaways across BLAST’s broadcast and social channels during the tournament, which expects to drive significant viewing figures.

Leo Matlock, Commercial Director for BLAST, commented:

The partnership provides a perfect fit for both brands with BLAST and SteelSeries sharing a keen eye for innovation and great passion for the world of esports. We’re thrilled to have SteelSeries on board for BLAST Bounty Hunt Hunt, and bringing some exciting fan engagement ideas with their Dota 2 heritage, as we look to expand into the popular game and deliver the first class tournament that viewers have come to expect from us.

Tim Ashton, European Head of esports for SteelSeries, replied:

BLAST have proven time and again that they’ve got what it takes to launch top tier tournaments and events, and we’re excited to be part of their first foray into Dota 2. This scene is a proud part of our heritage, and we can’t wait to see how the Dota 2 community engage with this exciting new addition.

BLAST Bounty Hunt starts later today with the first series between Team Liquid and Team Nigma at 4:30 PM CET. Don’t miss the live broadcast on Twitch! The Dota 2 event will introduce plenty of new features including a Prediction Game where viewers can win up to $5,000. Make sure to read everything about Bounty Hunt as we’ve already got it covered.
