BIG Clan completed their comeback in the FLASHPOINT Season 1 Global Qualifier and will be playing in the regular season group stage.

BIG keep their composure in FLASHPOINT Global Qualifier

BIG Clan entered the FLASHPOINT Global Qualifier as sure-fire favorites but a hiccup in their opening match put them on the verge of elimination. A solid second day eventually got the Germans to the semi-finals, which set them up against HAVU.

The Finns pretty much held the opposing role in the event. They were drafted to participate only because of SKADE’s visa issues, but managed to win both of their group games and come one win away from qualifying for the regular season.

BIG were having none of that. Despite the maps being close until the closing moments, the Germans’ higher pedigree in such situations helped them to a 16-12; 16-13 result on Mirage and Dust2. So despite their great efforts, HAVU will not continue their participation in FLASHPOINT’s inaugural season.

The other semi-final presented us with a North American derby between Pujan “FNS” Mehta’s Orgless and Joshua “steel” Nissan’ Chaos Esports. The in-game leaders registered 38 kills each in the three-map duel, but it was FNS’ men that prevailed in the end. Orgless and Chaos exchanged blows on the opposition’s map pick before Orgless settled it on Inferno – 16-11.

Don’t be surprised if you don’t see the name Orgless in the regular season. After this performance, some organization is surely going to snap FNS and co. to represent them in FLASHPOINT.

The regular season is supposed to start one week from now, but we’re still awaiting the final three Founding Members to be revealed and complete the team sheet. Team Envy were the most recent addition, having confirmed their membership status while the Global Qualifier was taking place.
