Battlefield 2042 Minimum & Recommended System Requirements

Battlefield Specs
These aren't punishing specs to meet, you should be okay if you're still able to play current shooters | © EA & PC World

The now infamous Battlefield leaker, Tom Henderson, shared the minimum and recommended system requirements for Battlefield 2042 a few hours ago on Twitter. The system requirements are about what most would expect, and not as punishing as they could be.

Battlefield 2042 looks like a spectacle. There are massive environmental disasters that can occur midgame and more vehicles than you could shake a stick at. Not to mention 128 player matches. Now, this is obviously great news, but I'm sure there were also a few who were hit with pangs of worry when they saw the game in the trailers. Because it certainly looked at least like this was going to be punishingly taxing to run on a PC. But just how much computing power is really needed for all this?

Battlefield 2042: Minimum & Recommended Specifications

Hopefully, this won't come as bad news for you and you're (potentially outdated) PC:

Minimum Specs

  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor (AMD): AMD FX-8350
  • Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K
  • RAM: 8GB
  • VRAM: 4GB
  • Graphics Card (AMD): AMD Radeon RX 560
  • Graphics Card (NVIDIA): Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Recommended Specs

  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor (AMD): AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Processor (Intel): Intel Core i7 4790
  • RAM: 16GB
  • VRAM: 8GB
  • Graphics Card (AMD): AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
  • Graphics Card (NVIDIA): Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060

With the current chip shortage and the exorbitant cost of GPUs right now, we're just glad the 10 series still meet the minimum. It could be one of the last triple A games that's true for, though...

Like keeping up to speed with all things Battlefield? So do we, here are a few recent stories in case you missed anything:

Will Battlefield 2042 Release On PS4 & Xbox One?

Luckily, you will be able to play Battlefield 2042 on the last-gen consoles, however, you will be getting a different version of the game than those on the current-gen consoles or PC. Most importantly, the version optimized for the older consoles will miss out on 128 player matches, and instead be capped at 64. The environmental factors are still going to be included in the game though, and the maps should be the same on both versions as well.

Whether on an older PC or one of the last-gen consoles, we're hoping that the experience is still just as enjoyable. Nobody wants another Cyberpunk situation...
