Season 7 in Apex Legends introduced a new legend, a new map, and a new heirloom. This time it’s for everyone’s favorite – Gibraltar.
Fans of the battle royale genre will find plenty of new content in Apex Legends. Season 7 added a breath of fresh air with the new map Olympus, an in-game vehicle, the new legend Horizon, clubs, a new Battle Pass, and a new heirloom for Gibraltar. That’s right, it’s Gibby’s turn to get an exclusive visual.
What’s an Heirloom?
Heirlooms in Apex Legends are an ultra-rare set of cosmetic items. In order to get the special skin you'll have to open Apex Packs. Getting 500 packs opened guarantee you’ll get 150 Heirloom shards. With those, you’ll be able to craft any Heirloom you desire leaving nothing to chance.
Heirlooms are released during every Collection Event and can be obtained after completing the Collection Set for that event. We’ve already seen our fair share of them as numerous legends possess one – Wraith, Bloodhound, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Octane, Mirage, Caustic. Next in line is Gibraltar. According to a recent leak that’s what the heirloom will look like.
The beloved gentle giant is usually a solid front line for his squad. With the heirloom, Gibby will equip a hatchet that appears to have at least two variations. One is all grey while the other has glowing elements. In case the new items look familiar, it’s probably because they resemble his finisher weapon. While killing an opponent, Gibraltar uses the traditional “patu” a Maori club.

As we’ve already mentioned, Heirloom items come out only during Collection Events, so it’s still uncertain when we should expect it. The axe might appear in a week, a month, or even more. Worst case, we'll have to wait until this year's Holo Day Bash in December. Since it’s still a leak at this point, changes might still come from the dev team so take it with a grain of salt.
