Apex Legends is currently in its seventh season and the start of the next one will also mark the game’s two-year anniversary. Here’s what we know so far!
The new season of Apex Legends is just around the corner and Respawn Entertainment are already dropping some teasers.
When Does Season 8 Start?
Season 8 of Apex is set to come out on February 1, 2020, which is when the current Battle Pass ends. It’s also the game’s anniversary as the Battle Royale shooter came out on February 1, 2018.
Season 8 Teasers
Unlike previous season teasers, this one wasn’t inside the game. Instead, Respawn decided to post it officially on Twitter.

What we see in the post is a handshake between two factions – the Syndicate and Salvo. The Syndicate are the people behind the Apex Games. So what’s Salvo? It’s a planet and that might be where we’ll be heading next. Information about Salvo was revealed in a letter from Wattson:
I am writing to inform you that Salvo – which rejected the Mercenary Syndicate’s position to join Syndicate Space in 2722 – is now being guided by new leadership sympathizers to the cause of peace within the Outlands.
Talks with this new administration was prolonged, but ultimately fruitful; as of today, the Mercenary Syndicate Treaty has been amended, and Salvo will become the seventh world to join Syndicate Space.
Salvo brings with it [redacted]. In the coming [redacted] Office of Public Relations will be rolling out a social [redacted] to dispel inaccuracies about [redacted] to create an appropriate [redacted] for their integration into the Syndicate, [redacted] including exciting new developments within the Apex Games.
At this time do not correspond with the Legends regarding this matter. Expect further instructions [redacted] our office in the days to come.
The chances of Salvo being a new map are rather slim, since it’s an entire planet. Salvo will probably be the homeworld of the next legend, who’s rumored to be Fuse.
Remember when I said there are no in-game teasers this time? I lied. You can now find a floating ship that also points to Salvo and the Syndicate.

Speaking of the ship, Respawn have also decided to rename it in order to avoid potential controversy:
Small note for the latest Apex patch, next week we're changing the name of the 'inauguration ship' to the Ceremony Ship.— Ryan K. Rigney (@RKRigney) January 16, 2021
We didn't want folks incorrectly assuming we were doing commentary about current events-it's just a name we'd picked out a while back. Better safe than sorry!
Design Director at Respawn, Jason McCord also confirmed a damage tracking feature that’s set to come out in Season 8.
Hold up I spoke too soon. Didn't make the cutoff for this patch, but should be in S8.— Jason McCord (@MonsterclipRSPN) December 30, 2020
New Stories from the Outlands
If you were eagerly waiting for the next piece of lore in Apex Legends we have some good news! Another Stories from the Outlands is scheduled to come out in a matter of hours.
We’re not sure if it’ll be another teaser for the new season, lore for an already existing legend, or the story of the upcoming Fuse. In any case, we’ll find out later today.
