Apex Legends made its official Steam release on November 4. Just a few months later the game is setting new concurrent player records right before the release of Season 8.
The popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment is in it for the long run. The game will soon celebrate its two year anniversary in early February and what better way to mark the occasion than with the release of Season 8.

With the arrival of Season 8 players can expect numerous changes.
- The new legend Fuse
- Massive changes to everyone’s favorite map Kings Canyon
- The new 30-30 Repeater weapon
- A new Battle Pass filled with various new visuals and more
Usually, the release of new content prompts players that haven’t logged in a while to come back and take a look. What’s even more surprising is that the number of concurrent players has been on the rise and we’re still in Season 7. Apex Legends peaked at more than 120,000.
Perhaps players are dropping in to complete as much of the old Battle Pass as they possibly can. One thing is certain though, with so much content coming in less than a week we’re sure to see the numbers go even higher. Note that these are just the players on Steam, the numbers on Origin are unclear but they're likely much higher. The total player base of Apex remains a mystery.
