The Alliance Dota 2 team has been missing a fifth for over five months. Yesterday, the organization officially signed Artsiom "fng" Barshak.

Alliance is one of the most famous Dota 2 teams in the world. The organization left their mark in history after the epic finals of The International 2013 where they took first place by defeating Natus Vincere.

Over the last year, the team hired a brand-new roster but dropped Neta "33" Shapira and Adrian "Fata" Trinks at the end of March. Ever since then fans have been wondering - who’ll be the players to fill-in? The first answer came quickly as Gustav "s4" Magnusson left Evil Geniuses and rejoined the Swedish organization.

That left Alliance with four players and they were still missing a fifth. The team loaned Artsiom "fng" Barshak from Gambit Esports and he has been effectively playing with the squad since May. That’s why it came as no surprise that Alliance decided to permanently add the Belarusian to their lineup.

Alliance also released an official statement that you can find in the tweet above or here.

Now, Alliance is excited to officially welcome fng to the team. With this signing, Alliance is now looking forward to looking into the future with more certainty. The International 10 on home turf in Stockholm 2021. With Artsiom’s previous experience as a captain, he makes an excellent asset to Alliance’s squad.

Barshak himself added:

Hello everyone! I’ve been playing Dota for more than 10 years, and around 7 years competitive. This game changed my life, and I’m sure Alliance will do that as well. So many teams are fighting to be the best team in the world, and Alliance is of course one of them.

Gustav “s4” Magnusson also commented:

With fng joining our team we are not just getting a mechanically good support player, but also a very experienced captain and drafter. Can't wait to see how many unexpected ideas we can come up with when we combine our game visions.
